Administration

Moving from Ghost, Blogger, Joomla, Drupal or Webflow.

Bring posts, pages, categories, tags and images from another system, with redirects from the old addresses.

Import and export → From another system moves the content of another site into Kaleta. Every system goes the same way: read, preview, choose, import.

Get the content

  • Ghost: Settings → Labs → Export gives a JSON file – upload it. Ghost files do not contain the site address, so the preview asks for it (for images and redirects).
  • Blogger: Settings → Back up content gives an XML file – upload it. Labels become tags; comments are not imported.
  • Joomla 4/5: enter the site address and an API token (your Joomla user profile → API Token). Kaleta reads articles, categories, users and tags through the Web Services API.
  • Drupal 9–11: enter the site address; with the JSON:API module on, published content needs no token – for drafts use a token or user:password.
  • Webflow: in the Designer, export a CMS collection as CSV and upload it; enter the collection's address with its folder (e.g. https://www.example.com/blog). Static pages come through From a live website.

A token you type is used only while Kaleta reads the site and is then forgotten – it is never stored or shown again.

Preview and choices

Before anything is created you see how many posts, pages, categories and tags there are, the first titles and warnings (content blocks Kaleta cannot read, images without an address, duplicate addresses). Choose what becomes news and what pages, whether categories stay categories, which old author becomes which user, and whether drafts come too.

Import

The import runs in batches with a progress bar, then downloads the images into Media. Every old address gets a redirect to its new page, and the site's own links to the old addresses are fixed. Running the import again adds nothing twice. Before you switch the domain, run the migration report to check the old addresses.
