Where Squarespace is stronger

Polished, with nothing to maintain.

Squarespace templates look good from day one, and hosting, security, domains and commerce are handled for you under one subscription.

Where Kaleta is stronger

A design system you own.

Kaleta gives you design tokens, shared classes and components on your own hosting, free – and Claude builds pages in that design system as drafts you approve.

Moving over

Moving from Squarespace.

Squarespace can export some content as a WordPress-format XML file. Kaleta’s WordPress importer reads that format, but it has not been tested with Squarespace exports – its preview shows what it found before anything is saved. Pages that do not come across can be rebuilt by Claude from the live site; add 301 redirects from the old addresses.

FAQ

Questions from Squarespace users.

Can I import my Squarespace blog?

Possibly. Squarespace exports blog posts and pages in a WordPress-format file, which the Kaleta importer reads; check the preview first, it has not been tested with Squarespace exports.

Will my template look the same?

No template is converted. Kaleta has its own starter sites and design system; Claude can match your colours, fonts and layout.

Is Kaleta really free?

Yes. Kaleta is open source under GPL-2.0-or-later. You pay only for your hosting, and for your own Claude plan if you use Claude.
