Administration

Upkeep and EU duties.

Links that heal themselves, 404s that fix themselves, media clean-up, content check, translation overview, bulk editing, cookie scanner, personal data requests, whistleblowing channel and password-protected pages.

  • When a page, news item or category gets a new address, the site rewrites its own links to it – in builds, texts, collection items, menus, components and pop-ups.
  • Redirects shows, for each address visitors could not find, the page they probably meant with one click to create the redirect. Tick Create redirects for missing addresses by themselves and the daily job does the sure ones; each is marked automatic, deleting it is the undo.
  • The site audit lists pages nobody links to, and broken links in pages, items and news. Claude can propose fixes as drafts.

Content

  • Media → Clean-up: unused files, duplicates and oversized images; image descriptions for many images at once.
  • The page and news editors show a content check: title and description length, one H1, heading order, image descriptions.
  • Pages → Translations shows what is missing or outdated in which language.
  • Lists of pages, news and collection items have checkboxes for bulk show, hide, language or category, and trash.

Privacy

Documents the site generates are templates, not legal advice.

  • Settings → Privacy and cookies: the cookies the site really sets (scan now or daily) – put {{cookie_table}} into your cookie policy; the record of processing; the accessibility statement as a hidden draft page; the accessibility toolbar for visitors.
  • Enquiries: expired enquiries can be anonymised instead of deleted; Personal data request finds everything about one e-mail address, gives it to the person as a file or erases it.

Whistleblowing channel

In Whistleblowing switch the channel on, choose the people who may read reports and add a link to /_report to your footer. Reporters get a case number and a code to follow the case; reports are encrypted and the 7-day and 3-month deadlines are tracked. Check your national rules – the company must name who handles reports.

Password-protected pages

In a page's settings, Page password puts it behind a password – for example a price list for partners. Whoever knows the password reads the page; it is never in search engines or the site search.
